Tackling health concerns in Mercer County and beyond!

Cast for a Cure. Inc. believes in making a difference. Since the Bass Tournaments inception in 1993, Cast for a Cure has organized bass tournaments to benefit organizations throughout the Mercer County region. Such recipients of this charity have included The American Cancer Society and ARC of Mercer County, an organization that serves and supports persons with developmental disabilities in Celina, Ohio.

Cast for a Cure, Inc. is a non profit corporation. All moneys raised from this bass tournament will be donated to charities. All people involved in the tournament are non-paid volunteers.

Cast For A Cure, Inc. has experienced overwhelming support and participation throughout its fifteen years of operation. We appreciate your past support and continued interest in our Bass Tournament and would like to extend our gratitude to the local sponsors, fisherpersons and volunteers who contribute to the success of this Bass Tournament.

History

In 1993 Jim Dabbelt, an avid fisherman and a cancer survivor, decided to start the Cast for a Cure Bass Tournaments to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. He gathered together some of his friends and acquaintances and hosted the first tournament at Grand Lake St. Marys.

The tournament was a success and resulted in the decision to make the tournament into a trail series. In 1994, Cast For A Cure, Inc. hosted six tournaments and the top ten teams received money and prizes at the end of the year. The tournament series has since grown to include The Classic which now consists of the top 20 teams (qualified by earned points) competing.

$120.00 per boat/per tournament. Each tournament is limited to 125 boats
